Teacher Arrested For Burning Class 4 Students With Camphor In Tamil Nadu
Fifteeen students at a government school in Tamilnadu's Villupuram district suffered burn injuries.
Chennai: A teacher in Tamil Nadu's Villapuram district has been arrested for allegedly placing burning camphor on the legs of 15 Class 4 students as punishment for poor academic performance.

"We have arrested her under the Juvenile Justice Act," said District Superintendent of Police Narendar Kumar.

A local court has sent the teacher, Vaijayanthimala, to judicial custody till June 24.

The education department has suspended her and the Head Master of the government school where she taught.
