Chennai: In a sudden move, the Tamil Nadu government today named Thamaraikannan, presently the Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) of Greater Chennai City Police, as the new Deputy Inspector General of Police of Intelligence.
A G Pon Manickavel, the incumbent, was transferred and posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Villupuram Range.
The transfers were in effect immediately, a Home Department release said.
