Cameras set up to track movement of animals helped forest department officials nab two men, who allegedly set ablaze a portion of Mudumalai wildlife sanctuary in the Nilgiris.
Officials said the images proved useful in tracing the duo to Muthanga along the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border.
On being questioned, the duo purportedly confessed to their crime and said four others were involved, followingwhich a search was launched for them, police said.
The gang's modus operandi was to start fires in forests and wait for animals to flee the inferno and then catch them,they said.
