In a shocking incident, two youths stabbed a 15-year-old school girl to death whenshe was waiting at a bus stand in full public view, police said.
As people stood stunned, the youths indiscriminately stabbed the girl who screamed before collapsing. They then fled, police said.
She was taken to a nearby government hospital and from there to Tiruchirappalli hospital where she succumbed, police said.
The incident, which occurred in broad daylight, caused a flutter in Varakuppai village where the bus stand is located.
The reason for the murder is being investigated, police added.
