Coimbatore: A 28-year old woman allegedly set afire her husband when he was sleeping in the early hours of today and later surrendered before police.
The woman, stated to be unhappy with their marriage, doused her husband with a mix of petrol and kerosene around 3 am, and set him afire, police said.
However, the man managed to escape with burns and with the help of neighbours got admitted to a government hospital, they said.
The woman surrendered before an All-Woman Police Station and was produced in a court which remanded her to judicial custody.
