Five farmers have committed suicide in Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's home district of Medak in the past one year.

Two Central teams today visited Nalgonda and Mahbubnagar districts of Telangana to take stock of the farm lands and condition of crops affected by drought.
A four-member team visited villages in the dry zones of Yadagirigutta, Aleru, Turkapally mandals in Nalgonda and met the farmers who suffered crop loss due to drought, District Collector Satyanarayana Reddy, who accompanied them, said.
They also took stock of cotton, pigeon pea, rice crops and enquired in details with the local officials. The local farmers too shared details of crop damage due to drought this year, he said.
Along with the District Collector, Revenue Division officer Nuti Madasudan also accompanied the four-member Central team.
The officials would submit the report to the government and try to get compensation at the earliest, Reddy said. Another Central team visited the dry zones in Jadcharla, Midjil, Kalwakurthy, Veldanda and Amangal mandals of Mahbubnagar district.
