Hyderabad: Two more deaths and 27 new cases of swine flu have been reported in Telangana, where the number of deaths due to the virus stands at 56 as on date.
"In the current year, from January 1 till February 26, 4,483 samples have been tested, out of which 1,412 found to be positive. The number of deaths because of other complications and swine flu as on date are 56," a bulletin on swine flu issued by the state government said today.
It said 102 samples were tested yesterday and 27 have been found positive for the virus.
"The number of positive cases reported in the last six days (up to February 26) are 47, 56, 09, 27, 33 and 27," the bulletin said.
According to the bulletin issued yesterday, the number of deaths till February 25 was 54.
Sufficient stock of medicine is available at different hospitals and there are enough testing kits, it said.
Citizens are advised to take precautions like reporting to the hospital on appearance of first symptoms of swine flu like high fever, sneezing, cough and body pains, it said.
Homoeopathy doctors have advised that citizens can also take homeo medicine as a preventive measure under guidance of a homoeopathy doctor, the bulletin added.
