Three more persons have succumbed to swine flu in Telangana taking the total number of deaths due to the virus to 39 since January this year, the state government today said.
"In the current year, from January 1 till February 4, around 2,123 samples have been tested out of which 718 were found to be positive and the number of deaths because of other complications and swine flu are 39," a bulletin on swine flu said in Hyderabad.
It said 100 samples were tested yesterday and 32 have been found positive for the H1N1 virus.
The number of deaths till February 3 since January 1 was 36, according to the bulletin issued yesterday.
The number of positive cases reported in the last six days (till February 4) is showing a fall in intensity.
"The figures are 26, 45, 35, 39, 18 and 32," the bulletin said.
Nonetheless, the state government has advised citizens to take precautions like reporting to the hospital on the first symptoms of swine flu like high fever, sneezing, cough and body pain.
The bulletin said enough stock of medicines is available at all teaching hospitals, district hospitals and area hospitals.
It quoted homeopathy doctors as advising that citizens can also take homeo medicine as a preventive measure under guidance of homeopathy doctors.
Medicine is available free of cost at Government Homeo Hospital, Ramanthapur in the city and all AYUSH dispensaries.
