Hyderabad: The bulletin said 122 samples were sent for testing yesterday and 46 tested positive for the virus. "The number of positive cases reported in the last six days (up to March 10) is 42, 51, 32, 31, 41 and 46," it said.
The bulletin issued yesterday had put the number of deaths at 65.
The government has advised citizens to take precautions such as reporting to hospital on appearance of early symptoms of swine flu like high fever, sneezing, cough and body pain.
Sufficient stock of medicines is available at different hospitals in the state and ample testing kits are also available, it said.
Homeopathy doctors have advised that citizens can also take their medicine as a preventive measure under guidance of a homeopath, the bulletin said.
The death toll due to swine flu in Telangana rose to 66 today with one more person succumbing to the H1N1 virus.
Forty-six fresh positive cases of the virus have been reported taking the total number of cases to 1,888, a bulletin on swine flu issued by state government said in Hyderabad.
"In the current year from January 1 till March 10, 5,850 samples have been tested, out of which 1,888 found to be positive. The number of deaths because of other complications and swine flu as on date is 66," it said.
