The number of deaths due to swine flu and related complications since January this year in Telangana rose to 78 with a fresh death being reported today.
"In the current year from January 1 till April 6, 7,517 samples have been tested, out of which 2,306 were found to be positive. The number of deaths because of other complications and swine flu are 78 as on date," a bulletin on swine flu said in Hyderabad.
It said 36 samples were tested yesterday and five of them have been found positive for the virus.
The bulletin said citizens are advised to take precautions such as reporting to the hospital on appearance of first symptoms of swine flue like high fever, sneezing, cough and body pains.
Sufficient stock of medicines is available at different hospitals and that there are enough testing kits, the bulletin added.
