Hyderabad:
A six-month-old baby boy died after his mother, a construction worker, was allegedly not allowed to breastfeed him by the site engineer in Medak district of Telangana, police said on Monday.
The incident took place on February 7 in Hatnoor, but came to light on Sunday after which the police lodged a case under section 304-A (causing death by negligence) of IPC against the site engineer of the construction company, Circle Inspector A Ram Reddy said.
The body of the child could be exhumed for the investigation, Mr Reddy said.
It was alleged that the woman, a native of Mahabubnagar who lived in a shack near the construction site, was not allowed to feed the baby for about two hours.
"We have to examine the woman and we are waiting for her to come back to Hatnoor," said the inspector, adding they had not yet named the engineer in the complaint.
