The 'Chalo Assembly' call for Friday given by the Telangana Joint Action Committee has turned Hyderabad, especially the legislative Assembly, into a fortress.
Bandh call given by TRS leader K Chandrasekhar Rao has received lukewarm response so far. While some shops are closed, most buses are plying and traffic flow is fairly normal on roads. Schools and colleges in the area are also open.

A day after the 'chalo assembly' agitation, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti or TRS has called for a Telangana bandh today in protest against the arrest of its workers. CPI, a strong supporter of the separate Telangana stir, however, differed with TRS in calling for bandh, saying the decision was unilateral.

A view of the tight security in Hyderabad :

The students from Osmania University and leaders of different political parties will begin the march from various locations in the city. They will converge at the Indira Park and then try to march towards the Assembly.
There are traffic restrictions on all roads leading to Assembly. Five flyovers - Khairtabad, Narayanguda, Basheerbagh, Telugu Thalli and Masab Tank - near the Assembly are closed.
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy ruled out giving permission for the march when some ministers from the Telangana region called on him. He said since there were apprehensions of Maoists joining the gathering, the government can't allow any such protest.
From Wednesday, prohibitory orders are in place both in Hyderabad and Cyberabad areas. The TJAC wants to give memorandum to the Speaker and the Chief Minister, seeking resolution on Telangana. But the police has denied permission for this march. Several layers of security have been put around around the Assembly, checkpoints have been set-up at different entry points into Hyderabad and on on roads leading to the Assembly.

"Having made every effort, we finally really realised that we should put pressure on the assembly because all members had promised Telangana. We want to march up to the Assembly and submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister, to the Speaker and to the Leader of the Opposition asking them to fulfill the assurance given to the people of Telangana," said M Kodandaram, Convenor, Telangana Joint Action Committee.

Hyderabad police have denied permission for the march and warned of stern action against those attempting to break the law.
