Hyderabad:
An unidentified person died after he accidentally fell into an open drain in Jeedimetla near Hyderabad on Saturday. He held on to an elevated manhole for some time, but couldn't withstand the force of the water. His struggle was recorded by bystanders who tried to pull him out.
Locals say that the man, possibly in his 30s, was sitting on the edge when he slipped into the drain. They suspect he was under the influence of alcohol. Some men rushed to help and looked for ways to save him. They threw a rope to him and he grabbed its end but soon lost grip and was washed away.
The police were informed. Debris and garbage in the drain were cleared but his body is yet to be recovered. A search is on.
