Hyderabad: A 35-year-old constable had a fatal fall while chasing a suspected thief at Gadwal in Jogulamba district in Telangana, police said today.
Raghunandan, attached to Alampur Police Station, was on patrolling duty last night and during vehicle checking noticed a four-wheeler carrying sheep and moving in a suspicious manner, a senior police official told PTI over phone from Gadwal, around 190 km from Hyderabad.
"After the vehicle was stopped one of the thieves ran away from it and Raghunandan chased him on foot in darkness. However, he lost balance and fell on the ground near a drain and died on the spot," the official added.
