Telangana's Ramakrishna Reddy allegedly committed suicide after complaining of harassment by seniors
Telangana:
A 45-year-old police officer was found dead at his government home in Telangana in the early hours of Wednesday. B Ramakrishna Reddy allegedly shot himself in the head with his service revolver around 1.30 am, when he was alone at home in Sangareddy, around 60 km from Hyderabad.
Other policemen ran to his home on hearing a gunshot and found his body. Mr Reddy, a sub-inspector, had reportedly sent his wife and two children to his parents' home two days ago.
Mr Reddy's family alleges that he faced relentless harassment by senior police officers. According to them, he left a suicide note blaming his seniors and colleagues. The police have not confirmed whether such a note was found.
Senior police officer Chandrashekar Reddy has promised the family a fair investigation.
Mr Reddy, a former army man, joined the police force in 2005.
