Two-year old falls into a borewell at Valhalla village in Nalgonda district.
Nalgonda, Telangana:
A 2-year-old girl today fell in an abandoned borewell in Nalgonda district of Telangana following which rescue operations have started, a revenue official said.
"The incident occurred at around 3 PM in Shaligowraram mandal. After receiving the information, the district administration called an excavator to dig a parallel well to recover the child," the official said.
The girl's mother said that the child was missing for sometime during this afternoon.
"While I was searching for the girl, I heard cries of the baby from the borewell and later found out that my child had fallen into the borewell," she said.
"We have started supplying oxygen into the well and we are able see some response from down," a paramedical official said.
The rescue operation is being overseen by police and revenue officials.
According to the official, an ambulance has been kept ready for providing immediate medical facility to the girl when she comes out.
Girl's parents are daily wage workers and belong to Dhipatunka village, Nalgonda Zone.
According to police, the borewell could be as deep as 30 feet and the baby could have stuck 25 feet below the ground.
