Thiruvananthapuram: A 42 year-old man allegedly killed his seven-year-old daughter, who was bed-ridden with cerebral palsy, before committing suicide at his house in Attingal in the district, police said today.
Police said Jyothish, who used to work in the Gulf, and his younger daughter, Ammu, were alone in the house at the time of the incident yesterday. His wife was away attending a training course.
Jyothish was reportedly mentally disturbed over the prolonged illness of the child. His elder child, who was mentally challenged, had died a year ago.
The father was under psychiatric treatment after the death of the elder child, police said.
