Thiruvananthapuram: A 19-year-old girl student of a college in neighbouring Kollam district suffered serious head injuries after she was hit by a speeding bike near the college campus.
The incident occurred in the parking area of DB College, Sasthamkotta, yesterday, the police said.
The second-year degree student, who is married, was rushed to a private hospital in Kollam and later brought to a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram after her condition deteriorated.
College Principal Lathish said the incident occurred outside the college campus. The man riding the motorcycle was not a student, but could have come to the campus to inquire about admissions, he said.
The student was immediately rushed to hospital, he said.
It was during 'Onam' celebrations in August this year that a jeep being driven by a student of Government Engineering College in Thiruvananthapuram had mowed down a girl student, killing her on the spot.
