Thiruvananthapuram:
The 21-year-old son of a businessman in Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram died after the new car, he was driving at high speed, rammed an auto-rickshaw and lost control last night.
Adarsh SP, a graduate, died early this morning in the hospital. Three women who were also in the car are in hospital in a critical state. Two of them are in the ICU.
The brand new car, a Skoda, was completely wrecked in the crash that took place around 10.45 pm. Firemen had to come in and cut open the vehicle to extricate the passengers.
Police sources say a preliminary probe suggests the car was being driven at a very high speed and "the driver tried to avoid an auto-rickshaw taking a U-turn. The driver lost control and smashed into a pole."
The car had a temporary registration.
