Kerala government to close down hotels flouting norms

Thiruvananthapuram: A three-year deadline had been set for closing down all hotels and restaurants in the state flouting the guidelines of the Food ministry to ensure the quality of food items, Food Safety Commissioner Biju Prabhakar has said.

Addressing a seminar on 'Food Safety and Standards Act,' held by the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation, he said catering business operators should be aware of the rules regarding the Food Safety Act.
