Thiruvananthapuram:
The Right to Services Act would be implemented in Kerala from November 1, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference after a cabinet meeting here, he said the draft of the Act was ready and a final shape would be given after consultations with representatives of service organisations.
"The act was passed earlier by the assembly and a final shape will be given specifying the services to be rendered by each department," he said.
Seeking the support of all employees for implementing the Act, Mr Chandy said, all the staff would be taken into confidence before implementing it.
A Sub-Committee comprising ministers KM Mani, PK Kunhalikutty, Aryadan Muhammed and Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan will hold discussions with representatives of various organisations on November 18 to give final shape to the process.
Mr Chandy said the cabinet had also discussed the progress report of UDF government's 'One Year Programme', which would be presented to the people on November 1, the state formation day.
Discussions would also be held with secretaries of various departments on Right to Services Act and also on plan expenditure to utilise the funds in a most effective manner, he added.
