
Thiruvananthapuram:
City-based Kerala Kalakendram would organise a commemoration function in Thiruvananthapuram on May 31, the third death anniversary of eminent poet and short story writer Kamala Surayya.
State Finance Minister K M Mani would inaugurate the function, to be presided over by Revenue Minister Adoor Prakash, a Kalakendram press release said.
The Kamala Surayya Cultural Centre being set by the Kalakendram would be inaugurated by Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty. Noted litterateur George Onakkoor would deliver the commemorative address.
Anarkali, a research student in biology, has been selected for the best upcoming short story writer award instituted by the Kalakendra. Speaker G Karthikeyan would present the award at the function, the release said.
