London: Gauri Khan, the wife of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, was one of those in a line of who's who that attended the opening of artist Subodh Gupta's exhibition at London's prestigious Hauser & Wirth galleries.

She told NDTV: "When I saw Subhodh's art for the first time it was still coming out and it was very close to my heart. I felt like touching every piece of his painting and sculpture. You know when you don't know someone and have seen his art and react to it. That's just beautiful.

She also said: "I have not followed it totally from where he started, but whatever I have seen and what I have seen today, it's spectacular.

Asked if she was a collector of his art, Gauri Khan said: "That's why I am here. I have just done up my place and in fact we invited him to our place. I wanted to show him our place because I thought if he gets inspired...he doesn't work with everyone. So I thought if he sees it and gets inspired he would tell us what would look good and what would work. So he called me and invited me to this exhibition to see what he has done and if I like something. But I think we still have to work on it and we haven't really decided anything."
