While the BJP has dramatically increased its strength in the 40-member Goa Assembly from 17 to 27 after 10 Congress lawmakers switched sides earlier this week, not all workers of the ruling party are happy about the move and have questioned the leadership. Some of them say they are "demoralised".

Three of the 10 Congress lawmakers in Goa who switched to the BJP earlier this week have found a place in the cabinet as Chief Minister Pramod Sawant inducted four new ministers today. Chandrakant Kavlekar, the former leader of opposition, has been sworn in as deputy chief minister.

Hours after 10 Goa Congress lawmakers split from the party and joined the BJP, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant late on Wednesday headed for the national capital, to introduce the newly inducted lawmakers to BJP President Amit Shah today.
