It all started with a sole bronze in 1934 in the second edition of the Commonwealth Games and now India has finally breached the 100-mark in the medals tally of the event in the latest edition to occupy the second position in the overall standings.

The 19th Commonwealth Games have turned out to be landmark for India in many ways. Not only was it the first time that the Games were held here, the host nation surpassed all expectations to finish 2nd in the medals tally (highest ever position) and also got their highest medal count of 101 in total and 38 Gold medals.
