20-year-old Mentally Challenged

A 20-year-old mentally challenged woman was allegedly raped by an unidentified man in Palghar district of Maharashtra, police said today.

A 20-year-old mentally challenged man, whose hands were reportedly tied to his hospital bed and who was supposed to be under round the clock supervision, jumped off the terrace of the three-storey National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) facility on Tuesday morning.

A 20-year-old mentally challenged orphan became pregnant after she was raped at Chandigarh's Nari Niketan. She gave birth to a healthy child earlier this month.

It was at a Nari Niketan run by the Chandigarh administration that a mentally challenged, 20-year-old girl was raped.
