India celebrates its 71st Republic Day today with grand celebrations in the national capital and all across the nation. The main Republic Day celebration is held in the national capital, New Delhi, at the Rajpath before the President of India.

Republic Day: The road users have been advised to plan their journey in advance accordingly and avoid the route of Republic Day Parade, from 9 am to 12:30 pm.

Republic Day 2020: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal read out the Preamble of the Constitution at a Republic Day event today and asserted that the responsibility of protecting the Constitution lies with citizens of the country.

Republic Day: The Republic Day flypast will comprise 41 aircraft of the Indian Air Force and four helicopters of the Army's aviation arm. The aircraft types include 16 fighters, 10 transport aircraft and 19 helicopters. The flypast will be conducted in two phases.

Republic Day: India celebrated its first Independence Day on August 15, 1947 and its first Republic Day on January 26, 1950. Independence Day and Republic Day are national holidays.
