The head of the joint parliamentary committee that's probing the 2G spectrum scam has told NDTV that it's not the responsibility of the Prime Minister to fix the spectrum entry fee for players wanting 2G telecom licences. That's the job of the Telecom Regulator and the Telecom Ministry, JPC chief PC Chacko has said.

Attorney General GE Vahanvati has advised the government to defer a Cabinet proposal to make it compulsory for all telecom operators to match the auction-determined price for their existing 2G airwaves for the remaining period of their licences.
