After terming CAG's estimate of Rs 1.76 lakh crore loss in 2G spectrum allocation as a "myth", Finance Minister P Chidambaram today said the projected Rs 1.86 lakh crore loss in coal blocks allocation would also turn out to be a "mythical" and "fancy" number.

In a report submitted to the government last year, the Comptroller and Auditor General of India pegged the losses to the national exchequer due to the 2G spectrum allocation at a mind-boggling Rs. 1.76 lakh crore. But a letter accessed through Right to Information (RTI) Act now reveals that CAG could have hiked the 2G loss estimate.
