In huge relief for the Congress-led UPA government, the Supreme Court has dismissed two petitions seeking a CBI investigation against Finance Minister P Chidambaram in the 2G telecom scam. Mr Chidambaram was Finance Minister in 2008, when then Telecom Minister A Raja allegedly gifted mobile network licenses and frequency to ineligible companies.

2G case: Review petitions filed by govt, telecom companies in Supreme Court today

The Supreme Court will today hear review petitions filed by the Centre and various telecom companies in the 2G judgements it delivered earlier this year. These review petitions will, however, not be heard in the open court as a convention, but will be decided in the chambers of Judges Justice GS Singhvi and Justice KS Radhakrishnan.
