3rd India Africa Forum Summit

A strong pitch for UN Security Council reforms and "joint cooperation" against terrorism was among the key highlights of the 3rd India-Africa Forum Summit which wrapped up on Thursday. The four-day summit in New Delhi was attended by 54 leaders of African nations.

India today announced a concessional credit of USD 10 billion to Africa in the next five years and a grant assistance of USD 600 million as Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly asked the continent to speak in "one voice" with it in pushing for UN Security Council reform and combating climate change and threat of terrorism.

India strongly advocated stepped up cooperation through intelligence exchange and training with 54 African countries today citing the fast growing linkages of terrorist groups across the globe at the 3rd India-Africa Forum Summit in New Delhi.
