4 Taken Hostage

All four people taken hostage in a more than 10-hour standoff at a Texas synagogue have been freed unharmed, police said late Saturday, and their suspected captor is dead.

Inmates at a Delaware prison were still holding two correctional staff members hostage on Wednesday night after releasing two others during an uprising at the facility, state officials said.

Four people including two soldiers were killed today in an ongoing siege at a hotel in central Mali, where gunmen have also taken a number of hostages, a military source said.

A fierce gun battle is underway between the police and local criminals in the Chiraiyakot area of Uttar Pradesh's Mau district. The police have cornered the criminals inside a house. Five people have been taken hostage by the criminals inside the house.
