The Defence Ministry has given its approval for the procurement of military equipment and weapons worth Rs 9,100 crore, officials said today.

The indigenously-developed supersonic surface-to-air missile "Aakash" was formally inducted in the Indian Air Force (IAF) in Gwalior today.

India's supersonic, medium-range surface-to-air Aakash missiles on Wednesday successfully intercepted fast moving targets in ripple mode in a test carried out from a defence base in Odisha, an official said.
