Former Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar's sons released a statement Saturday hinting they could enter politics to "continue the legacy" of their father's "dedication to the state and the nation".

Former Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar's sons Utpal and Abhijat, have been formally requested by the party high command to join the BJP, state party president Vinay Tendulkar said on Monday.

The Panaji bench of the Bombay High Court on Tuesday issued notices to Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar's son, Abhijat, in connection with a petition filed against him for alleged destruction of forested areas for the construction of an eco-resort.

The Congress on Wednesday alleged that three successive BJP-led governments in Goa had facilitated several illegalities in an eco-tourism project promoted by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar's son Abhijat in a south Goa village next to a wildlife sanctuary.
