Adani Green Energy said on Monday its third-quarter profit more than doubled from a year earlier, helped by robust power sales to customers and higher capacity utilisation.

Indian thermal power producer Adani Power reported an increase in third-quarter profit on Thursday, as strong industrial demand drove a recovery from a massive slump in profit the previous year.

In the year-ago period, Adani Power's profit was Rs 218.49 crore, the company said in a BSE filing.

According to the statement, the company's total income in quarter under review was Rs 5,872.57 crore as against Rs 6,210.76 crore a year ago.

Adani Enterprises on Friday reported a 83.61 per cent decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 68.20 crore for the quarter ended December, blaming non-availability of domestic coal and delay in compensatory tariff in power business as main reasons its poor performance.

Its consolidated total income for the October-December quarter increased by 120 per cent to Rs 4,240 crore compared to Rs 1,928 crore in the same period last year, it said.

Adani Power reported a higher consolidated net loss of Rs 619 crore for the third quarter ended December 2012, mainly due to higher imported coal prices. The private power producer had a consolidated net loss of Rs 356.3 crore in the 2011 December quarter.

Adani Power Ltd has informed BSE that a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Company will be held on February 08, 2011, to consider and take on record the Unaudited Financial Results for the quarter and period ended December 31, 2010 (Q3).
