Nine Afghan policemen were killed and six wounded in the eastern city of Ghazni after Taliban fighters stormed their checkpoints. The assault began early Friday when the Taliban attacked two adjacent checkpoints. They then ambushed a group of police rushing to the scene, killing the local police head, Ghazni police spokesman Ahmad Khan Seerat said.
