Negotiations between Meta and some talent representatives have stopped and started many times because the parties can't agree on terms for use of the actors' voices.

The decision to strike follows months of negotiations with major videogame companies including Activision Productions, Electronic Arts, Epic Games, Take-Two Interactive, Disney Character Voices and Warner Bros Discovery's WB Games.

WhatsApp for Android is reportedly testing a new feature for its recently added artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, Meta AI. As per the claims of a feature tracker, this feature will allow users to send voice messages to the chatbot. Meta AI is said to also be able to respond to messages, although in text format.

The singer had moved the court claiming that these platforms provide AI tools to synthesise artificial sound recordings by mimicking his voice, mannerisms and other attributes.
