An All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) expert, who carried out medical examinations on the skeleton remains of Sheena Bora, on Monday said that they have established that the 23-year-old woman was strangulated to death.

The second autopsy on the four rape accused killed by the police in an encounter near Hyderabad earlier this month was conducted by a team of forensic experts of AIIMS, Delhi, following which the bodies were handed over to their families, a top official said.

The mortuary at AIIMS will soon be a thing of the past as the premier medical institute is going to have an odourless, modern autopsy facility, a first-of-its-kind in the country, to help forensic experts conduct post-mortems with ease.

A team of forensic medicine experts from AIIMS will visit Ryan International School in South Delhi tomorrow and examine the water tank where six-year-old Divyansh Kakrora, a Class I student of the school, was found dead.

Countering the claim of Delhi Police, the head of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) forensic department, Dr Sudhir Gupta, has said that the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) report "did not rule out the presence of radioactive substances" in Sunanda Pushkar's viscera samples.

Deposing before the CBI court for the second consecutive day today in the Aarushi case, R K Sharma, former head of AIIMS forensic science department, said the injury on Aarushi's forehead, as shown in her post-mortem report, could have left her unconscious.
