Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited AIIMS in Delhi today to meet former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who is undergoing treatment at the hospital. He also laid the foundation stone of the National Centre for Ageing at the medical center which will be built in a year and a half at an estimated cost of Rs 300 crore.

Soon one may have to shell out more to avail treatment at the premier All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). The Finance Ministry has asked the medical institute to undertake a review and revise its user charges which have not been revised since the last 20 years.

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday issued notice to the Centre, city government and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on a plea by a person seeking a direction to the hospital to provide him free treatment costing nearly Rs. 8 lakh for Reiter's disease.
