After the Centre proposed a no-fly list for unruly fliers, Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad, who was banned by domestic airlines following a run-in with Air India staff, today said strict guidelines should be laid down for airline crew as well on how to treat passengers.

An association of airlines has decided that Ravindra Gaikwad, a Shiv Sena MP who assaulted a staff member of Air India, will not be allowed on flights "with immediate effect," a statement said. News agency PTI also reported that Air India has canceled the MP's ticket to fly today from Delhi to Pune.

P Mithun Reddy, a lawmaker from Andhra Pradesh, was arrested late last night at the Chennai airport for allegedly assaulting an Air India staff at the Tirupati airport in November.
