Jalan-Kalrock Consortium, the winning bidder for bankrupt Jet Airways, on Monday said aviation regulator DGCA has renewed the airline's air operator certificate.

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) on Friday said diesel generator (DG) sets of capacity up to 800 kilowatt can be permitted for industrial and commercial operations in Delhi-NCR from May 15.

Jet Airways, which is set to conduct its final phase of proving flights on Tuesday, is expected to get its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) revalidated this week, according to a senior DGCA official.

The civil aviation ministry on Tuesday permitted experimental drone flight operations, which would be beyond the visual line of sight (BVLOS), of SpiceJet, Dunzo Air Consortium, Skylark Drones and Swiggy, and 17 other entities.

Some flights are likely to be operated from India to the UAE "very soon" for Indians having valid residency or work permit for the UAE, its Ambassador Ahmed Al Banna said on Wednesday.

Air Deccan getting the DGCA's approval paves the way for the airline, which till now was holding a non-scheduled operator permit, to fly on regional routes under the regional connectivity scheme that caps fares at Rs 2,500 for an under-one-hour flight.

The order for suspension of the flying licence of Air Carnival was issued earlier this month, a DGCA official said.

DGCA has issued a show cause notice to the grounded regional carrier Air Pegasus asking why its air operator permit should not be suspended for its failure to carry out operations.

Currently, the airline covers eight destinations - Vijayawada, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Tirupathi and Vizag. It has a fleet of four 112-seater Embraer 190 aircraft.

The government on Thursday said it will amend the existing policy for grant of air operator permit (AOP) to bring it in line with its recent decision to allow 100 per cent foreign direct investment in domestic airlines.

"If adopted as drafted, the rules would not establish a regulatory framework to permit Prime Air operations in the United States."
