Airline Fare Protests

Over 3,000 travel agents across the country kept their businesses shut on Tuesday protesting alleged opaque airfare practices by airlines, and also demanded restoration of agency commission, Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) claimed.

With Gujjar agitation intensifying in Rajasthan, airlines have hiked fares on Jaipur-Delhi and Jaipur-Mumbai routes while the bookings are almost full for the next two days.Travellers have no option but to pay twice or thrice the actual fare as the demand has raised after cancellation of numerous trains due to the ongoing Gujjar agitation."Airfares...
