Six years after his arrest for involvement in three bombings, Swami Aseemanand will soon walk out a free man. A Hyderabad court has granted bail to Aseemanand in the 2007 Mecca Masjid blast case that killed over a dozen people in the Telangana capital on the condition that does not step out of the city without the court's permission.

A local court in Jaipur awarded life imprisonment to two men convicted for the 2007 Ajmer Dargah bomb blast in which three persons were killed. On March 8, the special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court had convicted Bhavesh Patel, Devendra Gupta and Sunil Joshi, who is dead now.

Ajmer Blast Case: Quantum Of Punishment Likely On March 22

The special NIA court in Jaipur is likely to pronounce the quantum of sentence in the Ajmer Dargah bomb blast case on March 22 after it continued to hear arguments today on the sentencing of the two convicts. Defence counsel Jagdish Rana said the magistrate deferred the verdict and posted the matter for Wednesday.

Swami Aseemanand has been found not guilty of any link to a bombing at the famous Ajmer Dargah near Jaipur in 2007. He was accused of masterminding the attack by the National Investigation Agency which handles terror cases. The charges against Aseemanand included murder and spreading communal hatred.
