Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said today that he is "not aware" of any attempt at forming a coalition with other parties ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls, a final decision on which would be taken by Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.

After a big show of family unity as his father and Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav flagged off his rath yatra, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav set off on Thursday morning in his snazzy red Mercedes bus that is serving as an election chariot.

As he began his campaign in his hi-tech and refurbished Mercedes, Akhilesh Yadav was philosophical about the feud that has engulfed his family, and left him somewhat estranged from his father, Mulayam Singh Yadav.

A few hundred metres into his 'Vikas Yatra', a state-wide tour, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had to ditch his snazzy red Mercedes bus and get into an open SUV. The hi-tech 'rath' has broken down and work is on to repair it.
