French police arrested at least 74 people overnight Friday after rioting and looting erupted following Algeria's historic qualification for the second round of the World Cup.

Algeria will be assured of their place in the last 16 in the FIFA World Cup with a win over Russia, but should also progress with a draw so long as South Korea don't beat the already qualified Belgium by at least three goals in the other match in Group H.

Belgium coach Marc Wilmots took his side through the qualifying round unbeaten but it will be a different kind of challenge against the likes of Algeria, Russia and South Korea in Group H in the finals of the FIFA World Cup in Brazil next month.
