Former cop turned activist YP Singh is holding a press meet in Mumbai to show what he says is an 'expose' on how the Mumbai police helped actor Salman Khan's hit and run case drag on for 10 years. According to Mr Singh, other accident cases in Mumbai like the Nooriya Haveliwala case and the Alistair Pereira case were completed within two years.

Alistair Pereira, whose bail in the 2006 hit-and-run case was cancelled by the Supreme Court, has surrendered at the Sewri court. Seven people were killed after Pereira, driving under the influence of alcohol, mowed down labourers sleeping by the road side.

Supreme Court sentences Alistair Pereira to three years in prison

Alistair Anthony Pereira will have to go to jail for three years. The Supreme Court has cancelled his bail and agreed with the Bombay High Court, which had found Mr Pereira guilty of running seven people over while he was drunk in Mumbai.
