The successful hosting of Maha Kumbh 2013 has earned Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav an invite from Harvard University to speak on how the 55-day religious congregation, which attracted tens of millions of people from India and around the world, went off like clockwork and was praised by organisation worldwide.

The Maha Kumbh Mela, considered the largest public gathering in the world, will be the subject of a case study at Harvard University, which will study the logistics and economics behind it and the "pop-up mega-city" that comes to life in Allahabad during the religious event.

Maha Kumbh Mela, often described as the "greatest show on earth" globally, is all set to begin here tomorrow with millions of people from across the country as well as abroad expected to attend the religious gathering.

The countdown for Maha Kumbh 2013, beginning from January 14, has started, as hundreds of religious seers and followers of the Juna Akahada, Agni and Avahan Akahadas entered the Mela premises near the Sangam in Allahabad on Tuesday.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Javed Usmani today directed the departments concerned to complete all works related to Kumbh within the stipulated time period and ensure quality.
