Fire in Amritsar slum doused; no casualties reported

A fire that had broken out in a slum in Amritsar was doused late last night. Around ten fire engines and the army were involved in battling the blaze. There are no casualties reported as of now and authorities are ascertaining the cause of the fire.

A massive fire broke out on Tuesday in Amritsar's Khanna Paper Mill, one of the largest paper mills in the country. Around 45 fire engines were pressed into service to douse the flames at the mill, 15 kms away from Amritsar's International Rajasansi Airport.
