RS Sodhi on Monday resigned as the Managing Director of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (GCMMF), whichmarkets its products under the Amul brand.

RS Sodhi, Managing Director of India's leading dairy cooperative GCMMF, which markets its products under Amul brand, sustained injuries in a road accident in Gujarat on Wednesday night and was admitted to a hospital, the police said.

Anand-based dairy major Amul's Managing Director allegedly received an extortion call from a person claiming to be a member of gangster Ravi Pujari's group, following which a probe was initiated by the Ahmedabad crime branch, police said today.
