An under-trial in Aligarh, Hoshiar Singh was shot to death when he was brought for a court appearance to the civil court.

A retired couple was stabbed to death in Lucknow's posh Gomti Nagar area last night. Lata Mehra, a retired enforcement official, and her husband A Mehra, a retired cashier with a bank, were found lying in a pool of blood inside their house, according to the police. They had allegedly been stabbed multiple times with a kitchen knife.
